Independent Planner (Hardcover on Amazon)
I designed the Independent Planner as an entrepreneur for entrepreneurs, freelance professionals, and small business owners. I needed something that would give me a framework and feedback on my daily schedule. There is nothing like this on the market. Other planners were just filled with quotes designed to inspire me. I love what I do - and that is inspiration enough! I look week ahead and see that my plans are designed to meet my goals. The Goal Tracker provides immediate feedback on my progress.
This is an undated, four month, planner which uses brain science to help you define, track, and meet your dreams and goals. This is not over complicated or just another paper calendar. It is designed to integrate with your digital calendar and provide something the digital calendar lacks: accountability.
The Independent Planner includes a four-month undated weekly (2-pages per week) calendar with a Daily Goal Tracker; planning for Dreams - Goals - Plans; monthly summary review pages; planning of your "ideal week"; and journaling pages.
The Independent Planner is self-contained with instructions on how to define your dreams and set goal, use the Daily Goal Tracker, monthly summary review, and tips on journaling. There is also a section to help with Habits, Routines, and Rituals.
Habits are things we do in response to a stimulus. These are automatic responses we take which take little cognitive effort – we do not have to think about what we are going to do; a stimulus occurs and we act.
Routines, on the other hand, are a series of behaviors we perform in the same manner and in the same order.
Rituals are the most obscure of these three, however their importance should not be minimized. Rituals mark transition.
Finding Balance
Your life as an entrepreneur is composed of more than your business. There are six areas which require attention to strike the perfect balance. Over emphasis on one will lead to the detriment of the others and lead to a lob-sided life experience. Again, our goal is to be intentional about our future. The six are of focus are broken down into the internal: personal, relational, spiritual; and external: professional, network, financial.
